Sponsors and businesses interested in being part of the Team Leicester partnership, are gathering at Freeths Leicester head office on 11 December to help shape plans for MIPIM 2020.
Team Leicester is a group of business people connected to the property and construction industry, who are all keen to grow their business by connecting with like-minded professionals.
They will be heading out to Cannes (France) in March to showcase ‘Leicestershire’ at one of the largest, most prestigious property exhibitions in the world. The intention is to meet and speak to key players in the industry and to attract new interest in investment and development in the area.
MIPIM (Le Marché International des Professionnels de l'Immobilier) is the premier real estate event, that gathers the most influential players from all sectors of the international property industry for four days of networking, events, conferences and exhibitions.
Team Leicester, using the theme ‘Leicester – the Healthy Choice’ aim to demonstrate the great quality of life in this area and show how it is sound and healthy place to invest in.
During the event on 11 December, delegates will hear the benefits of being involved in Team Leicester, the contributions they can make and the impact they can have on the MIPIM campaign.
So far twelve organisations are involved in Team Leicester - the most recent to join being architects, Stephen George & Partners (SGP) and luxury student accommodation provider, Code Students.
Jamie Lewis, managing director of Code Students is a seasoned MIPIM-goer and is fully appreciative of the benefits of going as part of a team. He said, “We’re a Leicester-based company specialising in student accommodation and co-living throughout the UK and are currently building one of the largest residential developments in Leicester [Merlin Works – a £51 million, 384-bedroom apartment scheme in Bath Lane.]
“MIPIM is one of the best property events in the annual calendar. It offers access to thousands of investors, developers and companies from across the globe – all looking themselves to do new business.
“Being associated with a region opens doors to an array of contacts and prospects, and provides opportunities to network with an audience at dedicated events. This is something you wouldn’t get by going alone and is why Code Students is part of Team Leicester at MIPIM 2020.
“This sponsors’ meeting is a great chance to get on board with the plans at the outset and meet the rest of the Team Leicester partnership.”
Team Leicester is led by Rob McGuinn, director of MDA Consulting, Richard Osborn, regional director at Excello Law, Mukesh Patel, managing partner at Freeths and Mark Oakley, Director of Inward Investment and Place Marketing at Leicester City Council. They are
