In a bid to equip its ‘business ambassadors’ with positive messages ahead of UKREiiF, Invest in Leicester hosted a property forum for the property and construction industry.
Taking place in Leeds next month, UKREiiF is the UK's largest property convention, allowing towns and cities to promote investment opportunities to interested developers. This pre-event, held at the historic Leicester City Rooms, welcomed over 100 delegates eager to learn about the city and county's most prominent regeneration projects.
The event started with a keynote address by Leicester City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby. Sir Peter provided an overview of key regeneration schemes designed to stimulate economic growth and create high-quality jobs for Leicester residents, Sir Peter said: "We have worked hard to develop a blueprint that will benefit residents, businesses, and visitors to our area for years to come. We will build on the existing successes in the City such as the excellent public realm, the increase in living accommodation in areas such as waterside to deliver further positive regeneration over the next ten years."
The event also featured presentations from other local authorities across the county. Edd de Coverly, Chief Executive of Melton Borough Council, shared details about Melton's ongoing regeneration journey and its multi-million-pound Stockyard development masterplan. Commenting on the event, Edd said, "The event provided a great opportunity for Melton Borough Council to showcase the commitment and hard work of our officers and members to bring about regeneration and change. We updated the property and construction sector on the transformative plan we have in place for Melton residents."
Adding a private sector perspective, representatives from event sponsor, The Garden Design Company, offered insights into how their work can support the growth of local businesses.
Invest in Leicester, the event organiser, will continue the collaborative spirit at UKREiiF next month in Leeds. They will attend with a consortium of private sector partners to further showcase investment opportunities across Leicester and Leicestershire, ensuring the city and county remain at the forefront of the UK's economic landscape.
